PROJECT: WHY DID WE START THIS BRAND?

S.P.C.C: The brand started in December 2012 out of a personal frustration I had for not finding well made minimilist inspired menswear in South Africa. I always had to travel abroad to find menswear design, inspired by simplicity which carried an ethos that I could authentically believe in – this stirred a passion in me and motivated me to take the first step and start S.P.C.C.

 

PROJECT: WHERE DOES YOUR BRAND FIT INTO THE ECOSYSTEM OF FASHION OR INDUSTRY?

S.P.C.C: S.P.C.C is a full lifestyle denim and footwear brand. We are inspired by minimalism and believe in the notion that simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.  We believe that high end premium quality denim at affordable prices is our anchor, supported by well made natural cottons and hand crafted full leather footwear and accessories. The balance between trend and longevity is very important to us, and this shows through in our selection of clean, neutral, understated detail and color palettes.

 

PROJECT: WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE YOUR BRAND IN 5 YEARS?

S.P.C.C: We see S.P.C.C being a brand that still has an impact on driving culture and inspiring others to focus on their passion and craft! We would like to be more established in having our own S.P.C.C concept stores around the globe in key influetial city centres, have a strong presence online and who knows... possibly a ladies wear range ;)

 

PROJECT: WHO ARE OR WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR INFLUENCES?

S.P.C.C: We draw massive inspiration, from macro cultural movements and trends, not only within the fashion indutry but also in the technology industry, the foodie industry, and the urban renewal movements. Observing Artisans in their respective industries and craft also influence and inspires us to move into specific directions with S.P.C.C.

 

PROJECT: WHAT ARE SOME UNKNOW FACTS ABOUT YOUR BRAND?

S.P.C.C: We love the idea of collaboration, believing in the idea of Shared Economy and not only being the best in the industry but also strive to be the best “FOR” the industry.

We are only 2.5 years old

We are South African based brand, most people think we are based in Eu or USA

We have a very small team 3 – 4 people who live and breathe S.P.C.C

All our leather footwear and Leather accesesories are hand made in South Africa

We built the brand off the back of non traditional social media and marketing
